PC Cass Rickman
Rickman had already served 6 years in the force in her home city of Liverpool before she made the move to Sunhil. Tragically, she was murdered by a serial killer.

Happy as Larry
Queen legend Roger Dawltrey as ex- crack dealer Larry Moore. When some drugs are posted through his letterbox, Larry believed he was being set-up or tempted back to his old ways.

Too close to the sun
Sunhill went up in flames not once but twice during the series' lifetime. The first was in 2005 with 6 officers killed. The second was in 2007, when Colin Fairfax, was exposed corrupt, racist, homophobic and bent. A truck loaded with explosives was sent by him into the building.

Michelle Collins went from The Bill to EastEnders, playing loan shark Sharon Brand in 1986.

Not so saintly Gabriel
Todd Carty did the same. He played PC Gabriel Kent who went to great lengths to join the Sunhill Police. He was out for revenge on Sgt June Ackland, as his parents had adopted her son and had treated him better than Gabriel.

A rival to Lily
Paul O'Grady played a transvestite and prostitute informant Roxanne in three episodes of The Bill between 1988 and 1990.

Bean on The Bill
Sharpe and film star Sean Bean also appeared in the drama. He played unnamed robber who held up a shopkeeper at gunpoint. It was only his second television role.
