Curtis Dowling is an antiques dealer turned television presenter who first saw experience in media on the set of Lovejoy advising the production team on the antiques used in the show.
What was your role on Lovejoy?
I was a hanger on basically - in the days when friends of the cast and crew could turn up!

How accurate was Lovejoy to the field of antiques?
If you want an education in antiques watch Lovejoy - it's how it really works.
What is it that you think makes Lovejoy such an enduring classic?
It felt nostalgic when it was made but now it feels like an England that may have gone for good; it's funny, warm and always sunny. As everyone used to say on set "Lovejoy country, Lovejoy weather" and don't forget the team that was Ian McShane and Dudley Sutton in arguably their best roles on screen.
What was it like to work with the cast?
I loved them all and still keep in touch with Dudley Sutton (Tinker Dill) and Chris Jury (Eric Catchpole). For someone who had never seen TV being filmed before it was magical and I mean that.
Do you think they'll ever get back together for a reunion?
A Canadian film company have just bought the rights to the books and I am talking with them about being an adviser to the reboot - so watch this space!
